An initiative designed to increase the number of effective teachers by restructuring the Elementary Education Bachelors of Science degree to include more content specific courses, enhance co-op teacher preparedness and outreach strategies, and incorporate supervisor coaching best practices and real-world teacher evaluation models with training.

Tampa Bay Healthcare & Nursing Program

A program designed to help participants overcome the gaps in knowledge, technical skills, and credentials necessary to fulfill the population's growing needs for healthcare professionals, and strengthen the region's economy with a skilled and employed workforce.

An Efficacy Study of a Distributed Leadership Model of School Organization

Working with the Alliance for Applied Research in Education and Anthropology at the University of South Florida, our research invovled evaluating the implementation of an intervention designed by Modern Red Schoolhouse, which calls for a reorganization of a given school's teachers and administrators onto six "Action Teams," each headed by a teacher who also serves on the school's "Guiding Coalition".

Our goal for this project is to evaluate the implementation of an intervention at Florida middle schools designed to establish a new organization structure and its impact on student achievement outcomes. Data collection consisted of three major elements: semi-structured interviews and focus groups, multiple surveys, and observations.

Videogame Input Usability Test

For this project, my research partnet and I observed 10 participants as they played through one of two different videogame demos to determine how effective each was at conveying to a player how to play that particular game.

The Adolescent and the Classical Novel - A Study of How Required Reading Affects the Reading Habits of Teenagers

My undergraduate thesis, which focuses on the thoughts of high school seniors on novels high school seniors have been required to read in their English classes as well as the thoughts of their English teachers and to create ideas for new approaches to solving the adolescent literacy problem.

For this project, we were divided into groups of four and provided with a client in need of a new website. For Mr. Coble's site, my group created a Flash XML slideshow for the home page and the other galleries through a jquery slideshow that pulls photos from Flickr. The music is also done through Flash.

Prototype iPhone Application

For this project, my class was asked to individually design a prototype alarm clock/radio app for the iPhone in Adobe Flash. For my app, I chose to do a Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask theme as the gameplay revolves around time.

My first attempt at game design, I created a point and click adventure game inspired by a PC videogame I was playing at the time called "The Dig". In each section I tried to incorporate different Adobe Flash elements we had learned during the semester and others I found on my own to create various puzzles for the player to work out.
